Two weeks into recruiting and I’m learning fast: consistency, humility, and faith. I’ll do the work—God handles the outcome. All glory to God.

The quick backstory

About two weeks ago, I officially started the college recruiting outreach process.

I went into it with a big list — roughly 15–70 schools across different levels (D1, D2, D3, JUCO). I didn’t really know what to expect. I just knew I had to take action, be consistent, and trust God with the results.

The outreach (a lot more than I expected)

Once I got moving, the volume added up fast

• I reached out to about 130 coaches
• I’ve sent 500+ emails total (introductions, follow-ups, and updates)

It’s been a grind — but a good grind. It’s taught me that recruiting isn’t about sending one email and waiting. It’s about showing up again and again with discipline.

What’s happening so far (and why it feels promising)

The most encouraging part is that I’m starting to see real signs of interest.

Some coaches have already:

• Emailed me back with questions
• Said they’re interested in coming out to see my games
• Asked me to fill out recruiting questionnaires
• Invited me to baseball camps

This is all new to me, and I’m honestly excited. It’s a reminder that when you put in the work, doors can start to open.

Staying grounded (because I’m still just a junior)

At the same time, I’m staying grounded.

I’m still early in the journey — I’m a junior, and I know recruiting is a process. Not every email turns into a relationship. Not every relationship turns into an offer. And not every offer is the right fit.

I’m learning to focus on what I can control:

• My work ethic
• My grades
• My attitude
• My development
• My consistency

Faith first

Most importantly, I’m keeping the right perspective.
Only God knows what my future holds.
I’m praying that this is the beginning of something wonderful — but I’m also surrendering the outcome. My job is to keep working, keep improving, and keep honoring God in the process.
